Puff Pastry Twists with Gruyère & Dijon - a savory appetizer that's sure to please!

The sharp, tangy flavor of the Dijon mustard and the nutty characteristics of the Gruyère cheese, melt into the delicate puff pastry with a touch of salt. These mouthwatering flavors balance beautifully with our Ultra Brut's crisp minerality and vibrant texture.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 3/4 cup grated Gruyère cheese (or Parmesan/cheddar)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt

Instruction

1) Prepare the Pastry:

  • Prehead the oven to 400°F.
  • Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the puff pastry to smooth any creases, forming a rectangle about 10x12 inches.

2) Add the Flavor:

  • Spread a thin, even layer of Dijon mustard across the entire surface of the pastry.
  • Sprinkle the grated Gruyère cheese evenly over the mustard, followed by fresh thyme leaves, if desired.

3) Fold and Slice:

  • Fold the pastry in half lengthwise and gently press to seal.
  • Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice the folded pastry into ½-inch-wide strips.

4) Twist the Strips:

  • Hold both ends of each strip and twist gently to create a spiral. Place the twists on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between them.

5) Bake:

  • Sprinkle the twists lightly with flaky sea salt.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden and puffed.

6) Cool and Serve:
